The first indoor snow tubing park in the nation has opened in Pigeon Forge! Pigeon Forge Snow is a 35,000 sqft indoor snow tubing park featuring over 10 tubing lanes with real snow.  Pigeon Forge Snow is open year-round, which means this is the perfect attraction for hot summer days, or even rainy days! The temperature inside the building stays between a comfortable 60-70 degrees all year long, so there is no need to pack a winter coat to enjoy playing in the snow!

Things to do at Pigeon Forge Snow

Snow Tubing - The primary attraction at Pigeon Forge Snow is the indoor snow tubing.  After you grab a tube, you step onto a moving walkway (kind of like a conveyor belt) that moves you up to the top of the slope, which is great because there are no stairs to climb!  Once at the top, you pick one of the snow-covered lanes to slide down.  The snow is completely natural and not synthetic...Just water that makes fresh powder!  The only difference between their snow and snow that falls from the sky is that their snow is blown from a machine.  After sliding down the slope, it has a slight incline that naturally slows you down to a stop at which point you simply pick up your tube and ride back up the moving walkway for another turn!  their prices are per hour, so you can tube as many times as you wish during that hour.

Snow Play Area - Pigeon Forge Snow also offers a snow play area for all ages to enjoy building snowmen, making snowballs, etc.  this is a fantastic opportunity to play in snow for people from warmer states that rarely, if ever, get to play in snow!

Pricing - The price for snow tubing at Pigeon Forge Snow as on March 2018 is $21.99 per hour for all ages.  Snow Play is $7.99 per 30 minutes.  The also offer a combo of 1 hour tubing and snow play for $26.99.

Height & Age Requirement - For snow tubing, there is a 38" minimum height and  years of age requirement.  The Snow Play area is available for all ages and height.  

What to Wear - Pigeon Forge Snow suggests a long sleeve t-shirt or windbreaker/light jacket.  However, it usually stays between 65-70 degrees in the building, so most people will be fine with whatever they are wearing any given day.  They do suggest not wearing flip flops as they may fly off your feet when tubing.

The Rowdy Bear Mountain

Visitors to Gatlinburg, who are looking for some adrenaline-fueled fun during their vacation will definitely want to stop by Rowdy Bear Mountain! This all new attraction is home to two amazing thrill rides that are guaranteed to get your heart racing.  

The Gravity Coaster

In mid-June, Rowdy Bear Mountain officially launched the Gravity Coaster.  This spiraling alpine coaster cuts through scenic woodlands and offers gorgeous views of downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. 

The Gravity Coaster is self-propelled, which means that passengers can control their own speed.  Darebevils can push their cart to the limit to zoom down the track, while folks who are looking for a more relaxing ride can go slow and soak up all of the area's breathtaking natural beauty.  The Gravity Coaster reaches a top speed of 30 miles per hour and the entire ride typically takes 5 - 7 minutes, depending on how fast you decide to go. 

While riding The Gravity Coaster during the day offers the best mountain views, nighttime rides on the coaster are a unique experience that you don't want to miss.  In the evenings, the coaster is surrounded by thousands of colorful lights that passengers can admire as they whizz down the track.

The Mountain Glider

In late October of 2017, Rowdy Bear Mountain will open one of the most hotly anticipated rides in Gatlinburg: The Mountain Glider.  The first ride of its kind, The Mountain Glider will allow guests to soar through the forest canopy like a bird.  Passengers on The Glider will be suspended in a harness and can experience the ride in a seated position or with their arms stretched in front of them like Superman.  The Mountain Glider will feature two parallel lines, so you can race a friend or family member through the trees.

Great Smoky Mountain Murder Mystery Dinner Show

The Great Smoky Mountain Murder Mystery Dinner Show is a small and intimate theater, which proves perfect for the up close and interactive show it provides.

 Our traditional, restaurant-style murder mystery plays out all over the dining room, so every seat is the perfect seat. There are four sidesplitting, parody style shows played in repertory each week: Scarlett Reloaded (New for 2017), Moonshine Murders, The Killbillies, and Frankly, Scarlett… You’re Dead! Guests will be given the opportunity to participate in the mystery, either by becoming an audience actor or by solving the murder using the clue packet provided at each seat. 

New for 2017, Scarlett Reloaded is the sequel to our audience favorite, Frankly, Scarlett… You’re Dead! Moonshine Murders stars the Luke family who have been runnin’ shine in Sevier County but are finding it harder to evade the law with all of the tourists in town. The Clampetts are the stars of The Killbillies who have relocated to Pigeon Forge, where Jed is looking for a new life and a new wife! And then there’s Scarlett and Melody, the not-so-sweet daughters of Colonel Simpson, who is looking to marry-off his two bundles of joy in Frankly, Scarlett… You’re Dead!

Anakeesta Aerial Adventure Park

Anakeesta is a 70 acre aerial adventure park that just opened on September 1st.  Guests of all ages will enjoy scenic views, ziplines, tree top canopy walks, concessions and more!

Anakeesta offers a unique outdoor mountain experience for all ages.  Begin with a scenic 12-minute ride from Downtown Gatlinburg to the summit of Anakeesta mountain on the Chondola's quad chairlift or enclosed 6 person gondola cabin where you will arrive at Firefly Village, a whimsical treehouse-themed village that features local craftsmen, retail and casual dining options.

Muscle Car Museum

If you love the old American muscle cars it's worth taking a run to Sevierville just down the road from Pigeon Forge to visit Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum, one of the largest and best collections in the world of American cars from the golden era of muscle cars. 

For a few years spanning the 50's, 60's and early 70's a unique thing happened in America, when the love of styling teamed up with the pursuit of horsepower to create some of the most beautiful, outrageous and downright FAST race machines ever built. 

Floyd Garrett had a dream to collect them all and in his museum he houses over 90 of the greatest legends to come out of Detroit, every one of them gleaming like new.  It's a step back in time to revisit a bygone age. 

Even non-fanatics will catch their breath at the spectacular array of the cars, seeing design lines dreamed up by artists who were on a roll, beautiful automotive pain jobs, and lots of shining metal.  And for gear heads, it's pure heaven to find some of the rarest muscle cars ever collected in one place. 

Floyd Garrett is usually on hand to answer people's questions, and there seems to be nothing he doesn't know about muscle cars.  Beyond the amazing displays of cars and period setting artifacts, the museum has memorabilia and gift items in abundance.  The price of admission is low and you are encouraged to bring your camera!

5 Things To Do At Dollywood You Can't Miss!

Dollywood is a fantastic place for families, couples, and friends.  There is so much to do - you might want to visit multiple days!  (Tip: if you arrive after 3pm, the next day is free!) Because it's such an immersive park, with plenty of things to do, we want to make sure you have a chance to visit these five places you can't miss when you go.

1.  Southern Gospel Music Association (SGMA) Hall of Fame and Museum

Located just inside the entrance near the stroller/rider height check area in Showstreet(#14 on your park map), the SGMA has a museum dedicated to the achievements and memories of pioneers in the gospel music genre.  Inside the museum, you'll find handwritten songs, a recreation of a church choir room, a replica of the Blackwood Brothers Quartet bus, clothing and instruments, songbooks and records, and more memorabilia.  There is also a wall dedicated to the Hall of Famers.  Every year a new set of music greats gets inducted. You can easily spend a couple of hours looking around at everything.  Before you leave, check out the store onsite.  They sell CDs and old vinyl records.

2. Chasing Rainbows Museum

This museum is dedicated to the life and history of Dolly Parton.  If you've ever wanted to see a Grammy up close and personal, or one of her many bedazzled gowns, you should check this out.  As you enter, you'll get an introduction from Dolly herself, right from her recreated home attic space.  You'll view collections, read stories, see some of her handwritten lyrics, and view an enormous selection of memorabilia.  There is also an area of the first floor that has listening stations where you can hear Dolly's music.  Make sure you allot enough time to get the most out of the museum, as it does close an hour before the park closes.  It's located in the Adventures in Imagination area, at #135 on your park map.

3.  Tennessee Country Home

This small two-room cabin is situated in the Rivertown Junction area of Dollywood (#91 on your park map).  It's a replica of Dolly Parton's childhood home (the original is in Locust Ridge). You'll see how very little she had as a child, including missing out on things we take for granted today, like running water and electricity.  Still, she had what matters most - love.  It's amazing to think that Dolly, her parents, and her 10 brothers and sisters called this little cabin home.  The cabin itself was built by Dolly's brother, and her mother reproduced the interior.  Inside the cabin are original family items. 

4. Eagle Mountain Sanctuary

You might miss Eagle Mountain (#54) as it blends into the rest of the backdrop of the park, nestled in the Smoky Mountains.  Make sure you stop and check it out because it is home to the country's largest exhibit of non-releasable bald eagles.  There are five different enclosures.  The are five different enclosures.  The largest is home to birds without mates that have physical disabilities.  If the birds decide to mate (they mate for life) then they get their own private enclosure.  Three different enclosures house the matedpairs, along with a few that are off-site at an American Eagle Foundation facility.  The last enclosure is home to bald eagles that can't fly at all, such as those that have amputated wings. If you want to get up-close-and-personal with a bald eagle, then you should grab a front-row seat at the Wings of America Birds of Prey show.  It's held daily from mid-March through lat October in Craftsman's Valley.

5.  Dollywood Express

Running every hour, plan on arriiving at The Village at the half-hour to get a seat on the train that will take you on a 20-minute excursion around the park.  The Dollywood Express (#101 on your park map) is an experience in America's history, besides getting unique vantage points of all of the Dollywood atractions.  It's a real coal-fired steam engine (burning two tons of coal daily) that had a long life before it came to Dollywood and is Dollywood's oldest attraction for that very reason.  The train originally was built for the US Army Transportation Corps by Baldwin in 1938 and is the older of the two trains at Dollywood.  The name you might hear on your ride, "2-8-2" or "Mikado," comes from the wheel arrangements of two leading wheels, eight driving wheels, and two trailing wheels. It was the first 2-8-2 owned by White Pass in the Yukon, Alaska, where it was stationed during World War II.  It was retired in 1963 and then bought by Silver Dollar City before it became Dollywood.  Dubbed "Cinderella" from the cinders that fly past.

Hollywood Star Cars Museum

The Hollywood Star Cars Museum, which is located in downtown Gatlinburg next to the Convention Center, originally opened in 1996 and has been a tourist favorite ever since.  The amazing collection has over 40 famous vehicles including General Lee, Mike Tyson's Lamborghini Diablo, and the original Batmobile.  If you are a movie buff or a car enthusiast, you will think you have died and gone to heaven!  The amazing two-story museum takes approximately one hour to tour and includes the following four-wheeled movie personalities:

Cuzzin Eddie's Toors!

One of Sevier County's newest and most unusual "attractions"!  Board our "customized" 14-passenger short bus where most toors offer an experienced and knowledgeable toor guide (or Aunt Tweedy) and driver who will escort you in style.  

Many trips include prizes, unique activities, souvenirs and snacks! (Bring yer teeth!) Outdoor Gravity Park

The Outdoor Gravity Park is home to the iconic New Zealand adventure, zorbing.  Don't miss out on the opportunity to go zorbing where you slip, slide, get wet, but no tumbling.  You can fly 6,000 miles to New Zealand, or you could just come to Pigeon Forge!

The OGO ball is 11 feet high, 11 feet fat, and bouncy, sits perched at the top of a 1,000-foot hill.  In a moment, its 300 square feet of plastic will go rolling towards the bottom-but only after a couple of things happen.  First, up to three people dive into the sphere's belly.  Then some of Outdoor Gravity Park's attendants toss 10 gallons of water into this signature attraction, and finally close the door on what's known as the OGO. The H2O makes for a slippery ride, though one without tumbling.  The fast and adrenaline-packed descent is more akin to a bouncy water slide.  New this season is a zig zag track called the FUNnel.  Offering a new spin on zorbing.  IF YOU WANT TO STAY DRY, we offer a dry option fall, winter, early spring called DRYGO.  The DRYGO is made up of three plastic spheres, one inside the other.  The passengers stay dry as they slip and slide without any tumbling in their own little universe as the smaller sphere spins inside the middle sphere.  Come join in the fun as the park is open rain or shine and all year.

Weight for individual riders can't exceed 260 pounds.  During the busy summer season, to avoid peak wait times, Outdoor Gravity Park recommends that visitors come before 11:30 pm or after 3:30 pm.

Ripley's Aquarium

An absolute must see when visiting Gatlinburg is Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies.  Voted as one of the top Gatlinburg tourist attractions, this aquarium features 13 separate exhibits displaying over 350 individual marine species.

 Shark Exhibit

The brand new shark exhibit has been a hit for all visitors of all ages.  It gives guests an interactive experience into the world of these amazing predators.  Guests can experience the feel of a shark bite, they can view the anatomy of a shark and they can learn interesting and unusual facts about strange items that sharks have eaten.  There are over 30 hands on displays in this area alone.  The Shark Lagoon allows visitors to come face to face with these giant predators.  Visitors walk through a magnificent underwater tunnel and see giant turtles and sting rays along the way.  This enclosed glass tunnel allows you to feel like you are actually underwater with these giants as they swim around you.

Stingray Bay

Displays over 100 rays of various breeds.  You can observe divers hand feeding these gentle animals or touch them your self as they swim up to you at the shallow end of the tank.  These large animals enjoy interacting with guests so there is plenty of opportunity to touch and observe them in their habitat.  As stingrays can grow over 6 feet in length, it is remarkable to watch them gracefully gliding through the water.  For an ever more interactive experience, guests have the option to purchase entrance to the "Touch a Ray Bay" where they can fully immerse themselves in a stingray pool for a completely interactive experience.  Instructors are on hand for both the shallow pools and interactive programs to answer and questions you may have.  

The Discovery Center

This is a fantastic way for children to learn more about the marine environment.  The hands on displays and games are entertaining and educational for all age groups.  This area allows children to view an aquarium from the inside out.  There is the opportunity to touch live sea life, solve puzzles and play games with your family or other guests.

Penguin Playhouse

This is another completely interactive display.  Clear underwater tunnels will give you an inclusive experience into the life of a penguin both below and above the water.  Watch penguins swim beside you and pop up on land.  You are so close to these adorable animals that you can see them playfully wind at you.  Here, you will learn new and interesting facts about this unusual species. 

From tropical rain forests to the depths of the ocean there are over 10,000 sea creatures for you to learn about and explore.  Learn facts about schooling fish or about the life of a jellyfish.  Watch divers interact with sharks or the staff as they feed the penguins.  Visit the control center to see firsthand how technology keeps the building and animals living comfortably in their environment.  No matter what type of experience you are looking for, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies.

Parrot Mountain

If you love the beauty of the wildlife in the Smoky Mountains, you're going to love spending time at Parrot Mountain Pigeon Forge.

Parrot Mountain and the Garden of Eden

The first thing you'll see at Parrot Mountain is a large, 200 foot, stacked stone fence.  As you make your way down the path, you'll find parrot cottages and tropical birds.  Once you enter the Secret Garden, you'll see toucans, hornbills and more flying freely.

The Bird Garden is your next stop.  You'll see over 50 birds to feed and have pictures made with.  Of course, you can just walk around and look at all the birds, but this is the spot where you can get up close to any of the birds!

There is also a baby bird nursery to visit where you can pet the babies and watch them be hand-fed.  If you're interested in purchasing a bird to take home, you can choose one from the nursery. 

Parrot Mountain and Gardens also has beautiful landscaping, including a waterfall, beautiful flowers and plants and benches for relaxing. 

Gift Shop & Dining

Parrot Mountain Pigeon Forge has a gift shop so you can pick up a souvenir from your trip.  The gift shop has unique items for your home, toys for kids and a great selection of souvenirs that will make your time at Parrot Mountain something that you can remember for years to come.

There's also a spot where you can grab a quick bite to eat for lunch while you sit outside at the picnic area and watch the birds.  The deli has sandwiches, hot dogs, subs, pizza, soft serve ice cream and more.

The Tomb Escape Game

Pigeon Forge's newest adventure TOMB takes your group of archaeologists deep into an ancient Egyptian tomb for 45 minutes of excitement.  Guests find themselves trapped by the spirit of an ancient Pharaoh, faced with ingenious challenges that must be completed for any chance of making it out alive.  Your group must work together to find success in this battle of wits.
